Rembrandt's The Anatomy Lecture Of Nicolaes Tulp reimagined by Scott Campbell for next month's The Idol Hours show at London Miles Gallery.

Here's two more from the show:

Brutal Legend comic strip by Scott Campbell (link roundup)

Scott Campbell posted a comic strip celebrating Brutal Legend's release.

And a few more links:

1. Too creepy to post here, ads by DraftFCB for Chronic’art Magazine. One features a bloody-handed man stroking a rabbit, and the other stars maggots pouring out of a corrupted laptop.

2. Disney is going to overhaul its lousy mall stores and look to the Apple stores for inspiration. Here's a few simple tips. First, put something more enticing than towels in the entryway and windows. Second, if you're going to play movies, spend a few extra bucks for a screen that's decent enough to make the picture visible. Third, parents with young kids aren't going to shop at a store if they know checkout will take eons.

3. Two new characters announced for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

Highlights from Rivet Gallery 80's Cartoons art show

A few of my favorites from Rivet Gallery's new show "We'll Be Right Back... After These Messages." You can see all of the artwork here. Links below are to the artists' personal sites:

Masters of the Universe class photo by Chris Lee.

Tiamat, Thundarr, He-Man, and Voltron by Scott Campbell. You know, speaking of the old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon, I highly recommend this post by Mark Evanier about his script-writing for the show. It's eye-opening to hear him describe how he was forced to insert the following theme into every episode: The group is always right...the complainer is always wrong.

M.A.S.K. by Clinton Reno.

Danger Mouse by Daniel Elson.

Rainbow Brite by Shannon Bonatakis.

Hand-crafted Adventure Time weapons (link roundup)

The Adventure Time crew posted a gallery of hand-crafted weapons. Pictured is a sea urchin mace by Sevonne Tuvia.

And a few more links:

1. Scott Campbell draws Ray Bradbury (with friend) and Jules Verne (with several friends). Rod Serling, too.

2. Stark Industries is a viral site for Iron Man 2. No content yet, but they are willing to take your contact information.

3. Realtor ad for the "Gay Realtor" could also star at the museum of improper use of quotation marks.

*Previously: Dave McKean illustrated a short story by Ray Bradbury.

Devo versus the Space Invaders?

Scott Campbell explains Devo's silly hats in this painting for the Quiet Storm show at Gallery 1988. He's posted several more paintings from the show here.

*Previously: Devo paper toy.

The A-Team eats sushi off a friend

The A-Team eats sushi off The Greatest American Hero in this piece by Scott Campbell for the Idiot Box show opening tomorrow at Gallery 1998.

At the risk of giving you an earworm, here's the openings for both shows. I actually couldn't find an embeddable English-language version of the A-Team opening:

UPDATE: From the same show - - the A-Team as robots.

UPDATE #2: From the comments - - the A-Team opening redone as Gears of War machinima. The ending is terrific:

*Previously: The A-Team reunite to contact Hannibal's ghost (really).

Pick the next Double Fine t-shirt

One of these will be the next Double Fine t-shirt. You can vote for your favorite (which is cool), but you have to register in the forum to do so (which is lame).

Or you could just buy merchandise already available. I love their double-headed baby mascot:

Relatedly, you can read an interview with Scott Campbell and watch him frolic with his puppets here.

*Previously: Brutal Legend desktop wallpaper.

*Buy circus posters at eBay.
