1. A Nielsen survey indicates that "more affluent consumers ($70k+) are considered super heavy coupon users." Makes perfect sense in light of what I see in my house. My wife's a coupon ninja, and achieves magical results. But accomplishing the feats requires an incredible amount of complex sorting, planning, and researching online. Via.

2. The Sony Walkman outsold the iPod for the first time in four years in Japan. Now this could simply be because people are buying iPhones instead of iPods, but I'd love to see a rival company take the lead in mp3 players. I love iTunes, but am lukewarm at best as to the iPods I've owned.

Go here for a gallery of portraits within portraits by Jon Madison. I bet even people who don't usually like photos of themselves would be pleased with a portrait like this. Jon also has prints on sale at Etsy.

Victorian Ghostbusters, Were-Crocodiles and other steampunk miniatures

A small sampling of the Steampunk miniatures based on Smog on sale here. Alas, they're sold unpainted and unassembled. I believe they're all sculpted by Victor Martins and Gregory Clavilier and painted by Sebastien Picque. Here's the company's companion blog.

Put another way, if your butt sags, if your eyes don’t just have crow’s feet, but crow’s legs, heads, wings, etc. and if you need to be airlifted to an ICU for emergency Botox treatment, then you probably survived these cuts. It helps, too, if you can be seen several times a day playing solitaire in your edit bay, have boozy breath and are operating on auto-pilot (and don’t give a damn who knows it).
