I've never seen a Kevin Smith movie that I enjoyed enough to watch a second time, but his vinyl toys are always pretty cool. This zombie Kevin Smith figure can be preoredered for $13 here. Via thesesites.
1. Interesting experiments conducted to test the difference between lucky and unlucky people. (If I had a choice of super powers, I would choose luck.)
2. Via Paul Pope, "PK Dick said a short story is about a murder, a novel is about the murderer."
The Ghostbusters are "hiring" a new Ghostbuster and giving him or her tickets to Comic Con in San Diego. So far, your chances of winning seem to be tremendous. The video I posted above is the only one that's even vaguely entertaining.
And a few more links:
1. Video of a three-year-old operating an excavator. Via.
2. Some sci-fi author is apparently flooding Amazon with negative reviews that recommend his own books. Via.
3. Did the NY Times keep the kidnapping of David Rohde a secret to protect his life, or to keep the ransom price down? Christiane Amanpour has made it clear that she would want it widely publicized if she was kidnapped.
4. Beautiful photo of the clear Gray Fox/Cyborg Ninja toy from Metal Gear Solid.
3. So you won't be as disappointed as I was when I saw mention of a "new G-Force trailer" - - it's a new Disney movie about guinea pigs.
4. Cobra Creative is the very rare example of an animated splash page that was worth the trouble creating it. I wish they sold t-shirts featuring their tentacle crest.
At Target today, my son fell in love with this monstrous construction vehicle called the Screamin Banshee. Turns out it's from the final moments of a cartoon short on the Cars dvd, called Mater and the Ghostlight.
Skid steer loader races? Dancing backhoes? Excavators you get to dig with? Diggerland sounds like the best theme park ever. Here's the official site, and here the Wikipedia entry.
Via Zoomdoggle, where there's an nice photo gallery of the attractions.
Marvelous gallery of excavators, dump trucks and other construction vehicles here. They're like construction vehicles in the Warhammer 40k universe. Here's his main site with links to other galleries. Via.
