Treasure Chest of Art

Brent Engstrom created these b-movie monster Garbage Pail Kid sketch cards for a medical benefit:
The Treasure Chest of Art is a very special event for the 10th Anniversary Expo in September. Benefitting the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, this limited edition sketch card collection will feature dozens of talented artists from across the world, many of whom will be at our show throughout the weekend. Limited to only 100, each individually hand-crafted Treasure Chest of Art contains 50 original and randomly inserted black & white as well as color works of art in trading card form. Each chest is numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. We are very grateful to Lucasfilm who has supported this charity project by approving the use of Star Wars™ sketches within the set. Card subject matter includes but is not limited to Star Wars™.

Each Treasure Chest is made to order & handcrafted in the USA of the finest hardwood. A complete list of participating artists will be included in each Chest. Every card is protected by an Ultra Pro Top Loader and sealed in a plastic sleeve. Each chest is hand packaged with the greatest of care.

100% of the net proceeds from the Treasure Chest of Art, less expenses, go to the POTCF. We are offering you an opportunity to purchase your own unique chest for $395.00. That’s less than $8.00 per card! There is a mandatory down payment of $50.00, followed by regular monthly payments, with final payment due prior to the Sept. 2010 Expo. You may also pay in full with one payment. All amounts are non refundable.

He-Man and Skeletor, Garbage Pail Kid-style

Garbage Pail Kids artist John Pound created some new clothing for Stussy. I didn't see an obvious link to the clothing, but Stussy posted a long interview with Pound. For example:
STUSSY: What were some of your inspirations for those drawings?
POUND: Some of it was coming directly from Art Spiegalman’s idea of what would be good, and what would really push people’s buttons. He wanted it nasty and disgusting, and angry and rebellious. All the wrong stuff basically. At the time I thought, ‘Oh Well, I could do this, this is something I wouldn’t have even thought of doing at the time” cause I had my head in this weird place of fantasy art. Years later I realized something in my background too, about being familiar with kids. My mom had run a nursery school/monastery school in southern California, so I was around this. That’s a weird influence too.
