Nightmare illustrated by Patricio Oliver

Patricio Oliver illustrated a dream for the 200 Suenos Ilustrados project I've previously mentioned:
I dreamed that I had an adopted sister, she was a demon but I didn't know it. She made my life miserable. Until the day that she was turning into a demon in the room, and my parents saw her. And we lived happily ever after.

Win toys and custom art from Patricio Oliver

New contest from Kidrobot:
Patricio Oliver’s Cucos are the unique and bizarre children that live on the edge of the Dark Forest and spread madness and horror to everyone they encounter. These diminutive deviants are looking for new playmates to join in their demented games. Are you evil enough to be a Child of the Dark Forest?

Enter the Cucos: Costume Contest. Dress up as your own original character that fits in the Cucos world. All entries will be judged solely by Cucos creator Patricio Oliver based on creativity, uniqueness, overall effort and, ahem, execution.

Only one entry per person. You may submit up to two (2) photos of your costume. All photos must be of YOU and must be recent—so no costumes from All Hallows Eves past. Be creative and crafty. Add makeup and accessories to totally immerse yourself in the Cucos world!

The Grand Prize is original art of YOU as a Cucos created by Patricio Oliver, plus a complete set of Cucos Mini Figures! Two runners-up will receive a decked-out Halloween goodie bag plus a $25 Kidrobot Gift Card!

All entries must be received by 5pm on 11/2/09. Winners will be announced on the KRonikle on 11/4/09. Kidrobot reserves the right to use all submitted images on kidrobot.com and the KRonikle.
You can see more photos of the vinyl toys here, and here's Patricio's Flickr gallery.

Patricio Oliver's "The Horror Forest"

Vampires, luckdragons, tentacled-monsters, banshees and more on display in Patricio Oliver's "The Horror Forest" image set. Via.

Artists, his official site is a great example of what not to do if you want someone to blog about your work. No rss feed, newsletter, or permalinks. And the "news links" in the fancy flash interface didn't work. I found his Flickr gallery only after a bit of Google searching. If you want publicity, don't waste your time on a fancy flash interface. Just set up a pleasant-looking blog with a full rss feed and obvious links to your webstore.

UPDATE: Patricio says in the comments, "I'm working on changing my website really soon! you are totally right."
