13-year-old named as a semifinalist in the Discovery Channel’s Young Scientist Challenge

This is so different from what I was doing at age 13 it's like she's from another species:

Her fascination with dendrite processes began during a lecture on kidneys in science class.

In her experiment, Prarthana worked in a lab, injecting toxins into kidney cells and then observing those toxins’ effect on the tiny arm-like structures of the cell body.
