Elephant-esque gas mask

Elephant-esque gas mask by Tom Banwell. It reminds me of Dream's helmet, too. Tom has lots of masks on sale at Etsy.

S&M Spacemen

"Directed by Jens Raunkjær Christensen and Jonas Drotner Mouritsen, Connected is a unique short film, a sci-fi western with a tiny budget, but huge ambitions." You can watch a teaser here. And here's a poster for the film:

The poster is by Anders Baden Nielsen and Joaquim Marquès Nielsen, and is on sale here. Via.

And speaking of SciFi, don't forget to participate in this month's art contest.

2. I don't know what Van Jones' job was as Obama's green jobs czar, but this AP article about Jones resigning for being exposed as a 9/11 Truther is pretty amusing for how pro-Jones/Obama it is.

Rudolf the Red-Nosed Tauntaun?

As far as I can tell, an elf riding Rudolf the Red-Nosed Tauntaun - - found at Jonas Springborg's website. His site is full of impressive concept art including this shadow monster from an abandoned game called Shadow Hunter:

And this gas mask-wearing gunslinger from a game called Faith and a .45:

Paradox logo (link roundup)

Christopher Simmons makes clever use of chicken and egg in this logo for Paradox. One of Alex Cornell's three favorite logos.

And a few more links:

1. Steampunk Uncle Sam.

2. Eyeball in a mousetrap desktop wallpaper (it's not remotely as gross as it sounds).

3. Low points in Todd Marinovich's life included cutting his hand on a crack pipe and having an accident in his pants before football games. On the plus side, he was known for throwing the best stripper-filled party ever thrown by a Raiders rookie. Read all about it here, and feel better about not making the high school football team.

4. Just an observation about blogging. Ever wonder why some websites seem to link to fairly sleazy sites specializing in image theft? They're quite possibly participating in link exchanges.

Steampunk gas mask

Officially this costume (and yes that's really a person in there) is for the "Steampunk Ortodox priest warior. Special Force of the Orthodox Church." The gas mask is by Bob Basset. Click through to see many more photos. And he has a few more items on sale at eBay here.

And a few more links:

1. Obama's choice for Solicitor General has no appellate law experience, and his choice for head of the CIA has no intelligence background. I don't know if they're good choices or bad, but it's certainly thinking outside the box.

Disturbing version of Willy Wonka

Willy Wonka in a gas mask by Clayton Stillwell. Go here for a high res version and to see Stillwell's creepy Oompa Loompa. Almost as creepy as Tim Burton's vision.
