Best Marvel Comics Covers for April 2011

My favorite covers for the Marvel Comics solicitations for April 2011. Love those absurd Thor Goes Hollywood variants:

DARK TOWER: THE GUNSLINGER - THE LITTLE SISTERS OF ELURIA #5 (of 5)
Written by ROBIN FURTH and PETER DAVID
Pencils & Cover by LUKE ROSS
Finally! Freedom is in sight! Roland Deschain has made what he believes is his escape from the “healing” pavilion of the Little Sisters! Though he gains ground, the gunslinger learns to his horror that the hideous nuns have no intention of letting such a juicy morsel escape their clutches. And against such bearers of the Dark Bells, even his fabled six shooters are useless. It’s the climax to this compelling story arc you never expected to read!

DEADPOOL MAX #7
Written by Dave Lapham
Pencils & Cover by Kyle Baker
“HONEYMOON IN WAIKIKI”
They say women change after marriage. They say they stop caring about their looks and stop cooking meals and stop cleaning your socks. They say they change their hair color and their name and start lying about their whereabouts and sleeping with rich men and killing them and making deals to sell state secrets with terrorists and stop wearing perfume. They say all that, but Deadpool never thought it would happen to him. He never thought his new life as a non-killing dad would start out so blissfully and end up like this -- with his wife having all the fun and him at home taking care of a screaming baby, wondering when its batteries will run out. Can Deadpool pull his life back together, save his marriage, and stop the spread of the deadly Liquid X? Probably not, but one out of three ain’t bad.

UNCANNY X-FORCE #7

Penciled by ESAD RIBIC
Thor Goes Hollywood Variant by MIKE DEL MUNDO
Deathlok Nation: part 3
The hordes of the Deathlok Nation continue to flood into our world, intent on killing Fantomex and protecting the super soldier production facility known as The World…but why? Inside his own head, Logan makes his last desperate stand against the demon hordes looking to burn his psyche to the ground. While outside, it's demon-Wolverine in a fierce battle with Cyclops! Can Logan survive both engagements? And if he does, will he ever be the same?
Find out here !

DEADPOOL #35
Written by DANIEL WAY
Penciled by CARLO BARBERI
Cover by DAVE JOHNSON
“SPACE ODDITY,” CONCLUSION
Okay, so Round One of Deadpool’s epic battle with the bizarre intergalactic entity known as Id the Selfish Moon didn’t exactly go as planned but then again, with Deadpool involved does anything ever go as planned? With his reputation on the line, it’s now time for Deadpool to put up or shut up. Guess which one he’s not gonna do?

HAWKEYE: BLIND SPOT #3 (of 4)
Written by JIM McCANN
Penciled by PACO DIAZ
Cover by MIKE PERKINS
The defining chapter of the Avenging Archer continues in the story that will shape Hawkeye's life forever! Battered, beaten, back against the wall, Hawkeye faces the foe who has plagued his life for years and a new threat that has rocked him to his core. At his darkest hour, there's only one thing left to do - kick some @$$!

Thor Goes Hollywood Variant by GREG HORN
Guest-starring The Falcon, Iron Fist and The Punisher! When the twisted agenda behind the new Heroes for Hire operation emerges, the mercenary known as Paladin gathers all the heroes he can count on to put things right. Be there for the conclusion of the opening story arc of the book that ComicBookResources.com calls "the type of read that comic books were invented for."

SPIDER-GIRL #6

The goofy initial version of Jaws

Check out the goofy shark that graced the first edition of Peter Benchley's Jaws. I wonder if the artist was just not very good, or if he/she was trying to somehow represent the affair that makes up a large chunk of the book. There are copies on sale at eBay. Via.
