Garbage Bag Whale

Garbage Bag Air Whale:
We breathed life into Bertrand, but sadly, he didn't take flight. He tragically insisted upon beaching himself, and we ended up putting him out of his misery.

The idea was for him to be a solar hot air balloon, the air inside heating up and lifting him. I'm confident the main problem is too much mass of plastic in the pectoral fins, and tapered tail relative to how much volume of air those areas hold.
Adjusting the air turns it into a grey whale and beluga whale. Via.

The Library of Congress is hosting an exquisite corpse adventure, where each chapter will be written by a different author. The first chapter is by child-lit god Jon Scieszka and features an illustration by Chris Van Dusen.

Over at Chris' site, you can buy original art and prints like this blue whale and retro-futuristic car:

Salaryman Whale

After watching the Beatles Rock Band trailer, I visited the Passion Pictures website and discovered a great ad for Boss Coffee, directed by Koichiro Tsujikawa, and featuring a flying whale made of salarymen. You'll have to watch it here, I couldn't find an embeddable version.

Penguin escapes Orcas by jumping into boat

This video is interesting enough just because it shows a pod of killer whales hunting penguins. But then one of the penguins jumps into a boat to escape. He then just sort of hangs out watching the whales:

Have you ever seen Orcas hunt seals? They swim right up to the beach, grab a seal, and play catch:
