A school in the village that carried out England's last hangings for witchcraft, when it was still a crime, has announced it will do away with its witch emblem.
Administrators at Warboys Community Primary School, which has used the image of a witch riding a broomstick as its logo for more than 60 years, announced their intentions after the school received poor marks on a recent inspection, The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.
The school is located in the town of Warboys, where England's last witchcraft executions took place in 1593.
