Ben Lovett's new video features an airship and a baby dragon

Steampunk meets Sin City's visual style in the video by Soapbox Films for Ben Lovett's Eye of the Storm:

And here, director Christopher Alender and producer Kris Eber give an in-depth behind the scenes look (Lovett is the pilot and his scarf was puppeteered to simulate wind):

You have to burn the rope

Alright, first, go play You Have to Burn the Rope, an absolutely delightful game. I got more enjoyment out of it then the last Zelda DS game I played.

If you're having trouble, there's an in depth manual, and here's a full walkthrough:

And probably the best end credits theme ever:

It's inspired fan videos complete with very dramatic music:

And even a remake in Little Big Planet:

1. From a review of Brutal Legend:
Like a solitaire or Bejeweled, you have to ask, when you remove even the context of resolution from real life, what is there but burning time. Is there an achievement out there for 1 million games of Bejeweled played? No amount of lines of Tetris fulfill anything. They disappear as soon as they form (Russians have a grim sense of humor–in my private world of crazy, my assumption is that the desire to build something constantly being undermined is some sort of metaphor about a totalitarian state, or maybe anybody with an MBA).

3. Ta-Nehisi Coates:
Comics are so often seen as the province of white geeky nerds. But, more broadly, comics are the literature of outcasts, of pariahs, of Jews, of gays, of blacks. It's really no mistake that we saw ourselves in Doom, Magneto or Rogue.

Parrot singing Let the Body Hit the Floor

Video of a parrot singing Drowning Pool's Let the Body Hit the floor. (Not just the chorus, the verses, too.)

Some great songs so far

Yesterday I asked for music recommendations (you can still make yours and try to win a prize). After sampling 100 songs or so, here are my favorites so far:

Staygold & Robyn, Spank Rock & Damien Adore - Backseat (terrific performance, too)

Francis and the Lights - Knees to the Floor

Ida Maria - Bad Karma

KT Tunstall - Uummannaq song

Thanks everyone, lots of great music.

Music beg/giveaway

UPDATE: Kyle and Doc No! were randomly selected and have been contacted. Thanks everyone.

I'm desperately in need of new music. So, let's have a contest. Post in the comments the title and artist of two relatively recent songs you really like. Include your email so I can contact you if you win.

Songs I've liked lately:

"Put It Back Down" and "Spectacular" by Seymour Bits
"Bang Bang Bang" by Mark Ronson
"Indestructible" by Robyn
"Gotta Do" by Quentin Harris
"Fancy Footwork" by Chromeo
"Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio

I'll send a copy of the Threadless book to two random winners.

UPDATE: Speaking of music, Martin Brown just posted his top 100 of 2010 as four downloads.

Serious hula hooping action

A cubicle drone meets a hot girl and hula hoops through downtown Los Angeles in this movie by Philo Hagen. (Probably NSFW on account of a few barley dressed hula hoopers.) The song is "Gotta Do" by Quentin Harris, which is available for download at Amazon. (I drive through that tunnel everyday.)

Here's more Philo Hagen at Burning Man. The hoop moves so fast, it's hard to believe it's not CGI:

Mesmerizing video for Robyn's Indestructible

The video for Robyn's Indestructible (good song!) is half people making out, half Robyn dressed in tubes full of flowing liquid.

The tubes were conceived of by Lucy McRae. The making of video is more interesting than the music video itself:

Lucy also created the pixelized costume for the cover of Robyn's album:

There are many other wild designs on display at her site. Via.

Seymour Bits - Put It Back Down

Cheerful animated lunacy in this video for the very catchy "Put It Back Down" by Seymour Bits.

Dancing Zombie Puppet Outbreak

Enjoy an outbreak of dancing zombie puppets in "Piece of Me Piece of You" by Three Legged Legs for Zune. The puppets were created by Adam Parker Smith and Caroline Salas. There's a lengthy explanation of how the video was created, along with lots of concept art and photos here.

The song is Fancy Footwork by Chromeo. Here they are performing on Yo Gabba Gabba:

Super 80's Style featuring Mark Ronson, Q-Tip, and Amanda Warner

Great song and super 80's style in the video for Bang Bang Bang by Mark Ronson, Q-Tip, and Amanda Warner.

The video is directed by Warren Fu. This second video by Fu for Ronson starts off with a bicycle that's half Tron lightcycle, half KITT, and half boom box (don't care for the song, though):

And here's one more Ronson video - - Circuit Breaker is directed by Gary Breslin and Jordan Galland, and takes place in an 8-Bit Hyrule (forget the master sword, Link has to acquire a boombox):

Finally, while I'm on the topic, here's an older video by Fu, an anime commercial for Aaliyah:
