Move over Fail Whale (link roundup)

Mitch Canter gives NBC it's own version of the Fail Whale. Via.

And a few more links:

1. Bizarre story of billboards that have been placed in New York apparently so that a jilted mistress could humiliate her married boyfriend.

2. Funny line amidst advice to someone asking about law school: "Listen, law isn't your strong suit. It wasn't mine, either. And that's ok. You clearly excel in the sciences; I'm gifted at insulting people in fresh and exciting ways. We must each capitalize on these divine talents to forge our careers."

3. At 8:00 p.m. on Monday night, 11.2 million people watched an episode of iCarly - - more than any other show on tv at that time, including 24. Via.

Michael Jackson Fail Whale (link roundup)

Michael Jackson/Fail Whale mashup by Raul Orozco. Found via someone I follow on Twitter (I recommend you follow everyone I follow, they do more than just retweet and post to say they've updated their blogs.)

And a few more links:

1. Batman and Robin desktop wallpaper by Dean Trippe.

2. Donkey plus zebra equals zonkey.

3. Adam "Mythbusters" Savage used his Twitter followers to pressure AT&T into forgiving a massive bill he ran up. It's easy to see why celebrities like Twitter so much. They can post absolutely inane things, and get their ego vigorously stroked by several thousand sycophants. Reminds me of Sally Field's character in Soapdish going to the mall.

4. Last week I mentioned a reporter who wrote a magazine article about a police chief and then had an affair with him. Her editor wrote a long, largely defensive article about the scandal. My favorite sentence buried about 12 paragraphs into the article: "Some have also suggested McBride should never have been used as a reporter by the magazine because she was dating Paul Bucher in the 1990s, close to the time she wrote about him." Via.

Blanka paper toy (link roundup)

And a few more links:

1. Move over Fail Whale. Here's the Fail Homer.

2. I can't find the article at Entertainment Weekly's stupid website with it's useless search function, but the current issue features a list of classic movie villains. Sharon Stone says she based her performance in Basic Instinct on Magic Johnson's no-look pass:
When I started to work with Mr. [Michael] Douglas, I made certain that I paid such attention to him, without him knowing it at all times. I became obsessed with him--everything he did, everything he ate, everything he wore, the way he walked, the way he breathed--so that I could have a no-look relationship with Mr. Douglas.
3. Touching comic strips about true love by Arlene O'Leary. And it's her birthday.

4. Win an artbook from Sean Galloway.
