1. Something Awful reviews the Nintendo 3DS:
Pilotwings Resort - Take the Wii Sports location, add elements from the classic SNES title, and you've got a minimal effort title that will sell like hotcakes among newcomer Wii gamers and nostalgic nerds alike.
2. Camel racing is popular in Dubai, and nowadays camel jockeys are typically robots (instead of children). Dubai police have uncovered a gang that was selling stun guns, which were then placed inside the jockeys to use against the camels. Via.

1. Fascinating article on Full Fathom Five, James Frey's effort to generate books that can be turned into movies aimed at tweens. The article is written by Suzanne Mozes, and I'm a lot more interested in reading more by her than by anything that comes out from Frey and his ghost writers.

Watch a suped-up Samus fight a giant tentacled-space monster (spoilers)

Here's the last 10 minutes of Metroid: Other M - - Samus, at the height of her powers, fights a giant tentacled-space monster, and then, for no apparent reason, strips down to her Zero Suit to flee a self-destructing spaceship. (The writing in this game was embarrassingly bad.)

Metroid: Other M playthrough

Opening cinema and first boss fight from Metroid: Other M. When I last checked, the Youtube user had uploaded the first two and a half hours or so of the game. (Samus and her new finishing moves look great, but otherwise the game gets stale fast. It's more or less the exact same Metroid scenes and enemies you've seen many, many, many times before.)

Metroid: Other M launch trailer, lackluster reviews, desktop wallpapers, and cosplay

There are a few new Metroid desktop wallpapers at the official site. Kotaku gave it a fairly strong review (while criticizing the "annoying" controls). Destructoid gave it only a 6.5 out of 10. But the launch trailer is pretty cool.

The game comes with a $20 credit if you buy it at Amazon.

And here's a new Samus cosplay photo by Yuki LeFay. Her Samus gallery is great
